Fire Sprinklers save Lives and Property
Time and time again in Vermont, we hear about lives and properties that have been saved by the activation 
of properly installed and maintained fire sprinkler systems. Fire sprinkler systems have an incredibly strong record of property protection stretching back over 100 years. In the United States, Because of the excellent record sprinklers have in protecting life and property (including Vermont’s historic buildings), and for saving community resources and municipal services, a number of incentives for building owners or tenants to install fire sprinkler system have been established.
Installing a fire sprinkler system makes good business sense. Vermont fire and building codes provide incentives for a building owner to install a fire sprinkler system permitting the expanded use or adaptive reuse of a building.

NFPA 13D, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems in One- and Two-Family Dwellings and Manufactured Homes.
NFPA 13R, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems in Residential Occupancies up to and Including Four Stories in Height.
