The Vermont Emergency Services Memorial was erected at the Robert H. Wood, Jr. Criminal Justice and Fire Service Training Center in Pittsford, VT. The center is home to the Vermont Fire Academy, Vermont Police Academy, and the Vermont State Police - Office of Professional Development. The memorial honors all fallen Fire Fighters, Police Officers, Emergency Medical Service personnel, and Correctional Officers who gave their lives while serving the people of the State of Vermont.
Annual Memorial Service
A memorial service is held annually on the third Sunday of September to honor and remember those who have died in the line of duty in Vermont. The service is open to the public and we invite the families of the fallen to join us in remembrance on this special day. The next memorial service will be held on September 21, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
Donations
The upkeep and maintenance of the memorial is funded entirely by donations. Supporters may make a donation to the memorial by purchasing an inscribed paver that is inlaid around the monuments or making a cash donation to the Emergency Services Memorial Committee.
