Program Development and Community Risk Reduction

Prevention Program Development
Most of Vermont's fire departments do not have a fire safety educator,  therefore department members spread the fire safety message in addition to their normal department duties.

The public education and information section provides technical assistance, customized fire safety education programs and fire prevention training. We assist local fire departments, health educators, medical and public health professionals, classroom teachers, elder service providers, community and service organizations, parents, caregivers, and anyone else interested in collaborating on fire and life safety education. The Division can also help with community risk reduction, emergency planning and other general fire and life safey code issues.
