Emergency Response

The Division of Fire Safety also provides services in specialized emergency responses to further assist communities. The Division's emergency response can range from a fire investigator to an emergency building inspection team, to our larger teams; the Vermont Hazardous Materials Response Team of 30 personnel, to the Vermont Task Force One, Urban Search and Rescue, a 90 person team. Each team or unit has a specific task and response ability. During larger statewide or regional events when there is a request for multiple teams or responses, the Division of Fire Safety has two smaller groups; one that reports to the Vermont Emergency Operations Center when activated and the other to the Division of Fire Safety Operations Center. This gives the Division of Fire Safety the ability to coordinate its resources efficiently and effectively. For more information regarding each team follow the links below.
