FEMA anticipates the 2019 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program will be open for applications in December 2019. Each year, prior to the application period, the FEMA Region I Fire Grant Program Specialists travel throughout New England and provide training workshops for the AFG Program. Each workshop is approx. 2 ½ hours long and provides information on AFG, what is new for 2019, and tips to develop and submit a successful application. These workshops also provide an opportunity for applicants to ask questions and network with FEMA Grant Specialists and other AFG applicants and recipients. This year, FEMA Region I will be conducting 26 workshops across the Northeast. In addition to these in-person workshops, the Region will also host 3 workshop webinars.
