Fire Safety Main OfficeThe main office provides support for the regional offices, the Fire Academy, and the State Hazmat Team. The main office is also involved with data management for the National Fire Incident Reporting System, certification of technically qualified people for specialty trades, technical assistance, appeals, administrative orders and penalties, fire safety education, technical training, public outreach and support for the Access Board. The Division of Fire Safety is committed to making Vermont a safe place to live, work and visit. Our goal is to protect the public and the fire service with coordinated efforts in Code Enforcement, Fire Service Training, Public Education, Hazardous Materials and Incident Investigation. In addition, we strive to work with local community groups and building owners in ensuring the safety of all who enter and use public facilities.

Directions to the Office

  • Take Exit 7 of I-89
  • Go straight through 3 sets of lights - then bear RIGHT onto the connector to Montpelier toward US-302 W/MONTPELIER (US-2) via U.S. Route 302.
  • Take the ramp onto BARRE MONTPELIER RD (US-302) down the hill and TURN RIGHT at the intersection onto U.S. Route 302.
  • Our office is located .04 miles on the right in the Connor Building which is across the street from McDonalds and Burger King. Go to the back of the building past the Vermont Lottery Office and through the gate.

Our office entrance is located on your left. Please park in the big parking area on your right.
