Public Education & Information Section

 Fire Prevention Through Education

One of the essential areas of fire prevention is education and awareness. Fire safety education is designed to increase knowledge and to develop or change the attitudes and behaviors toward fire.

The division’s Public Education & Information Section works hard to meet the ever changing fire prevention and education needs of Vermonters of all age groups. The section acts as an important resource to help local organizations develop a wide spectrum of programs and programs to keep their citizens safe.

The section provides free support resources, technical assistance, and shared fire safety educational equipment to local fire departments educators, public health professionals, elder service providers, community service organizations as well as others interested in fire safety education.

Public Information & Media Resources

Another function of the Public Education and Information Section is to serve as the media’s point of contact with the Division. We attempt keep fire safety messages fresh in the minds of Vermonters by providing  a variety of seasonal fire safety topics in press releases and other informational resources. Personnel also respond to specific requests for information from the public and news reporters. Additionally, we take part in television and radio programs and partner with several other organizations to jointly prevent fire through education. go to the Press Release page >
